Alder ridge is a burly climb, but the most direct route into the Mad Lake area. Being a moto trail, conditions are highly dependent on the recent weather. Expect deep dust and loose rock in late summer. As a descent, this is one of the longest in the state. Thankfully it is not shuttleable, which keeps it from seeing too much use.
