A 1.4 km each way (including approach) out and back hike to a very pretty waterfall. The approach is on established trails. Start at the parking area at the east end of Chinook Lake. Follow the lakeside trail until it crosses the dam at the east end of the lake, then turn right on the Rainbow XC ski trail. Follow this wide trail south along the bottom of the ridge east of the Rainbow trail. When the ridge ends head east on the single track trail along the base of the ridge, east to Allison Creek. Then follow the creek north to the bottom of the waterfall. The west side of the creek is usually easier walking than the other side, but a few creek crossings will be required.

Access Info

Take Highway 3 to the Allison Creek Road, 5 km west of Coleman town centre. Turn north on the Allison Creek Road and proceed 2.7 km until you cross a cattle guard. Take the left fork immediately after the cattle guard and continue 1.3 km to the lower parking area, then follow signs to the campground, continue down a steep hill and park at Chinook Lake.
