*Aug 6 UPDATE* -- Avalanche Debris Pile on Trail at ~1.5 miles in. Easier to cross now that it has mostly melted.

The ~15-mile Out & Back was completed early October 2018. The first 5 miles is a road to trail conversion and the upper 2.5 miles is new singletrack. Awesome views starting at 4 miles.

The trail was built by a partnership between Evergreen, the USFS and King County. Phase 2 will create a loop but it is still in the planning stages. The plan to connect to the Beckler Peak hiking trail to make a loop is being questioned due to the steep grades. Evergreen has proposed a new route that would be mostly new singletrack and some road-to-trail conversion.

Went 5/23/20 and there is a major slide about a mile in that cut the trail off.

Rode Alpine Baldy yesterday. The avalanche debris at mile 1.5 is crossable but will soon become much more tricky to cross as it continues to melt. There +12 feet of snow with a tunneled creek flowing underneath. We rode to mile ~5 and hit impassable snow on the trail. +5 feet in some shaded sections. From there we left the bikes and hiked. The trail offered stunning views and an enjoyable ride, but will need at least a couple weeks to be fully rideable.

Looking into riding Alpine Baldy. Any intel on the estimate of riding time to the top? And the latest condition of driving the road to the trail? Thanks.
