This double track and skidder road runs from the top of CBT Mainline to the Elk Road. If you ride Alpine Meadows to its lowest point, you will then follow Elk Road (a gravel road) to the CBT Mainline Trailhead parking area. Shown here is the lower half of Alpine Meadows which connects to the upper half of Alpine Meadows via a section of trail it shares with CBT Mainline.

Alpine Meadows does offer an easier route for novice riders if ridden from top to bottom. However, steep sections make this a tough climb for novice riders looking for an easy way up to the top of CBT Mainline from the bottom. As such, Alpine Meadows should be considered a green trail when ridden in the down direction. Due to it’s gradient, it should be considered more of a blue rating when ridden in the up direction. There is no reason to ride up Alpine Meadows when you can climb up the CBT Mainline trail.
