Ancarrow’s Landing / Mylord Delaware Island Trails came about due to a agreement between the Parks Department and the Department of Public Works.

The twisty directional single track trails start at Ancarrow’s landing and head south to form a 2.5 mile loop. This is a very flat area and suitable for beginner riders, but it also one of the last trails to dry after a rain.

Parking is available at Ancarrow’s Landing (eastern end of Maury/Brander St.). Ancarrow’s landing is accessible by bike from other James River Trails via the Flood Wall and Slave Trail.

Access Info

If you are starting this route from the Richmond Slave Trail, pass the boat ramp looking for a kiosk on the left. Follow the trail across a gravel road. The trail continues to a fork. This fork represents the beginning/ending of the loop.

There are limited bailouts as the trail meanders into multiple switchbacks. That said, stay alert for fellow riders as you may quickly approach each other due to narrow turns. There may be small mud puddles right after ½” of rain.

Best conditions I've seen on the poop loop yet. Only one small mud patch, the rest is great. Not dusty nor did it smell of poop today.

Fun loop w/ good flow. Its a very flat area and pedals easily. Great addition to the rest of the james river park system trails.
