This new trail connects the McDowell Sonoran Preserve trails with those of the Fountain Hills McDowell Preserve. For those looking to circumnavigate the McDowells with a large loop, this trail is a key piece that used to be missing. The trail is easier to ride clockwise, due to the more difficult sections that lie on the north end of the trail, but both directions are fun.

Access Info

Easiest access is from Sunrise trail, very close to the summit of the climb. From the Fountain Hills side, the trail branches off from Promenade, but the junction is not currently well marked. It briefly shares the trail with the Western Loop Trail, but splits left as WLT climbs steeply up the ridge.
