Land Owner
The gravel Whirlpool Fire Road leads up the Whirlpool river valley past the Whirlpool Campground which is a beautiful location and an easy intro into bikepacking. Just short of the end of the gravel road the Athabasca Pass trail branches off and becomes very technical. It is possible to ride ~4km of the Athabasca pass trail to Tie Camp after which point cycling is not permitted
Access Info
From Jasper drive south on Hwy 93, after the park gate turn right onto Hwy 93a, follow to the Moab Lake road and turn right, follow to the parking lot at the end and start riding.
Disclaimer
The bridge has washed out at Simon Creek, it is not possible to continue further along Athabasca pass from that point without personal watercraft.
