This is a great beginner trail with generally smooth flowing singletrack until the last two miles or so.

Great cross bike ride except for the last couple of miles. Super fast and not technical.

I completed only the first 8.5 miles of the trail as a self-supported loop as follows: parked at S Charolais Rd (Old Sonoita Hwy) where trail crosses the road at mile 8.5 of ride. Pedaled south up the paved S Charolais Rd for 4-5 miles until it hits Hwy 83. Continuing S for 0.8 miles for the most dangerous part of the ride - cars and a narrow shoulder for ~ 1/2 the distance. Total road time ~ 1/2 hr. The actual trail ride is really fun - pretty smooth and well-maintained for almost entire ride. It includes some very sweet downhill sections and none of the climbs will break an intermediate rider. Nice panorama views from the ridge tops. This is a MUCH easier ride than Las Colinas section of AZT which is just to the south. A really nice ride would be to combine both of these for an all-day funfest. Thanks AZ trail folks for this nice ride.

The segment of this trail south of 83rd and Sahuarita Rd is very overgrown with Cat claw. Would recommend knee pads, long socks, and long sleeves. Also, the dry lake crossing just south of Lakes Road is not a dry lake right now. You will have to hike-a-bike to get around the lake.
