You reach your highest point at the White Buttes. The trail snakes down. Take on as much water as possible at Wet Bottom creek because it's a long way with a couple of big climbs before you will hit more water. Late April, Deadman creek was dry. Once you hit the Red Hills and Divide Junction, put your long pants on. The oak brush and cat claw will shred your shins. There is a seep with water about a mile and a half down from the junction. That's it until the City Creek trail head.
