Alternate way to get to the top of School of Rock and Squirrel trails, or to the start of the Big Bear trail. The first half is an abandoned logging road in a recent cut block. The single-track section climbs through the forest just west of the cut block with some challenging climbing turns, descends slightly on an old ATV trail past the top of Squirrel, then leaves the ATV trail in a sharp right turn for the final short climb to the top of School of Rock.

Access Info

The most direct route to the trail is climbing the York Creek Road past the York Creek Staging Area. The Back Door trail starts with an abandoned logging road, right off the York Creek Road just before it descends to the yellow steel bridge.

Rather dusty in the open areas. Forested sections ran perfect. Great climbing trail.
