A must-do when in Chamonix. Trail crosses France-Switzerland border twice so don't forget your passport. Start at Le Tour and climb to Col de Balme (lift or bike). From the refuge climb to Croix de Fer and from there it's all downhill to Trient. From Trient, take the road back to French border (Le Châtelard) where you'll catch the train back to Vallorcine and Chamonix.
Please note this is a multi-use trail. Be nice and courteous to other users.
