The local indigenous word for Platypus is Baridjaru, (bar-id-ja-ru). This trail
links Forrest to Lake Elizabeth and climbs most of the way to the Lake Elizabeth carpark. The climb is quite gradual and easy. Instead of going to Lake Elizabeth, you can turn off into Red Carpet, an awesome trail with the teeniest bit of climbing.

Access Info

Start from the Southern Forrest Trailhead. Cross over the road and head along Trail 1, Forrest Loop, which goes off to the right of the Platypi Chocolate cafe. Follow Trail one until you reach a sign splitting off to Trail 2, Baridjaru, and take this option. Follow Trail 2 up to the top where you cross Kaanglang Road. From here you cross the road, and you can either take a left turn onto Track 3, Red Carpet, to take you back down, or go on to the carpark at Lake Elizabeth where you can walk to the lake.
