The first part of the trail starts from the bench parking lot right at the end of the Zipline at Mutual Dell. The switchbacks are tight and often have big loose rocks and successive root drops. Mostly hike-a-bike for the first part. The middle section provides a short rest, and the upper section is all ride-able if you have the cardio for it, but it is brutal.
Going down, this is a local favorite, and is very fast until the bottom. That is where some will walk the drops and switchbacks, but it is rideable with a good all-mountain bike or even a skilled rider with a slack hardtail.
Most of the trail is just steep and loose with some rocks that tend to gather in the rutted out middle. The bottom has some consecutive rooty and rocky drops that can be a bit of a wheel trap right after hairpin turns. This makes the bottom a bit more than expert.
Disclaimer
This trail gets very icy in the winter, best with snowshoes or spikes
