<note>Trail is in poor condition. There are many logs across trail, some large. Bridges and boardwalks are rotten and collapsing. Brushing is needed in several places. There are many muddy sections. Trail can be hiked, but is difficult in places.</note>

<note>The second half of the trail, from the canyon to Malcolm Point, is now hikable with caution and has been re-marked. Logs and brush have been cleared and a path was cut around and through the slide section. Note that this half of the trail is officially closed, and that there are a number of rotting and hazardous boardwalks and bridges. There are also some steep slippery slopes! Careful hiking is required.</note>

<note>First half of trail, to Puoli Vali Canyon, is hikeable, but needs a lot of brushing, and be prepared for many mud holes. The trail is too rough for biking. West of the canyon the trail is officially closed and has some steep-sided and dangerous sections. There are multiple windthrown trees that need to be cut, and a 20m section that has slid and needs a new trail cut through. The last few hundred meters to Malcolm Point is very grown in with salal, and it may be better to build new trail further away from the shore than to have to regularly brush out the old trail. Nevertheless, a very beautiful trail.</note>
