This trail started as a renegade path, but has received a lot of work over the past couple of seasons, and while still not sanctioned, is a quality trail. It connects the John Brooks Trail fire road to the eastern apex of the Lake Loop. The map shows it in the generally downhill direction, which is the preferred direction.
The trail starts as a narrow, sometimes off-camber, sidecut. Its main quality is the tight, twisty quarters you have to negotiate, with a couple steep pitches--both up and down--right after tight kinks in the trail, so be ready to burst. It crosses the Belmont Creek Trail more than once, including one bridge, so you could get a bit wet when the water is flowing. This trail tends to stay wet longer than others in the park, due in part to the cover the trees and brush provide, so avoid after heavy rain.
This trail is unsanctioned, use at your own risk!
