Most know this trail as the Belmont trail, as it crosses Belmont Road which is access to the Belmont Estate owned by Howard county. The majority of this trial is in the state park, but as you cross over Belmont Road you cross in private property, where a the "Rockburn Trust" was created to keep this area wooded. This area, around Belmont Road is notoriously flat and tends to be muddy after rains, and will remain muddy much longer than the rest of the park. It is one of the "avoid the normal spots" part of the park after rains.
