This very scenic doubletrack leads to the Bowman Lakes. There are a couple of other trails that branch off early on, but this is definitely an out and back. This trail has some steep loose and rocky sections and is mostly used by motorized users.

Description for mountain bikers: The road starts of very pleasant and gradually gets steeper up to the saddle at 2/3 of the way. There are often good lines to ride and the whole ascent is rideable if you are a strong climber. Then the road drops steeply down a gully where you are riding on sketchy loose rocks and you know that you're going to have to push your bike up the majority of this on your return. At the bottom of the gully there are 3 stream crossings where you may be able to keep your feet dry depending on how much trouble you want to go to. The trail starts climbing back uphill and although there is some more steep and loose, it's not nearly as bad as what you just came down. There are 3 Bowman lakes and they are all relatively close together and easy to ride between.

From the upper lake it is possible to hike (off trail) up the ridge to the NNW to gain an un-named summit which will give you beautiful views looking down the other side into the Dempsey Valley, as well as Mt Powell the highest summit in the Range, and of course views looking back down on the Bowman Lakes.
