There are two trails here: Kootenay loop comes off of the top of the ridge and heads straight down. It is an unmaintained, extremely steep and shameful dirt slide that is hard to find and even harder to stay on. watch out for the first corner, blowing it results in being ejected 20 feet in the air off of a dirt cliff. Locals do this trail only once every two or so years to remind themselves of how not to build trails (and because it's pretty fun in a slam-your-head-in-a-door-over-and-over-again-to-see-if-you-can-take it kind of way. If you reach the bottom of the cliff, you will find the BikeFest Dual.

The BikeFest Dual is a fun but short, bermed double track with jumps and super tight corners. It starts uphill in the woods and comes out into a field for most of the minute and a half run. It is an ideal place to take a group who want to spend some time sessioning jumps and corners. If you don't feel like falling down Kootenay loop to get stated just ride up from the end of Strachan Road, do some runs and then head back to Strachan Road.
