The trail starts at Blaubergalm.The beginning goes up and down, depending on how comfortable with technical climbing you could ride most of it, otherwise you will have to push and carry at the beginning.
Alternatively, the beginning part from Blaubergalm to Schildenstein can be avoided by using the direct access to Schildenstein and just doing the downhill from there, which is the most exciting part anyway.
On the downhill part starting just under the Schildenstein peak, expect some gravel and some technical rocky sections where it is possible to choose alternative lines of varying difficulty. Before the trail enters the forest, there is a short section slightly uphill and flat. In the forest, there are some rooty but more flowy sections, as well as a couple of short, difficult technical spots. The fun factor is quite high on the whole trail.
Access Info
You can park at the bottom of the trail, ride parallel to the street or on the street in the direction of Austria until you reach Achenwald. You can then take gravel forest roads up to Blaubergalm.
For the biker/hikers, the shorter way to reach the trail is to take the forest road starting near the end of the trail that leads up to Königsalm, then push and carry the rest of the way up the trail to just below the peak of Schildenstein and start the downhill there.
