Traversing through World Heritage listed Wet Tropics Rainforest, the track is a former route for logging vehicles. The logging trucks haven't been around for decades and many a wet season has weathered the dirt road surface, making this a sweet ride for those on a dually.
Come prepared, virtually zero mobile phone coverage along the route.
North on Bruce Highway from Townsville, left onto Forestry Road, Bluewater, then climb up the dirt road for about 7km to a corrugated tin roofed hut. Road is drivable but take care if you have a low clearance vehicle because of rutts and potholes.
