The trail goes on an uphill climb that heads north to the junction with the South Hills Trail. Portions of this trail offer shade. The lower portion passes through naturalized weedy areas with previously planted trees such as Eucalyptus. The central and upper portions pass through coastal sage scrub plants on south-facing slopes and ridgetops.
