The Bow Falls/Hoodoos Trail can be ridden in either direction. It is a short singletrack trail which takes you down towards Bow Falls, or up from the falls to the second Tunnel Mountain parking lot located on Tunnel Mountain Road. It’s a great trail for families to enjoy, especially when descended to the falls.

Expect incredible views of the surrounding mountains and the river below, along with a short exposed ridge section on Tunnel. The trail is well marked; just follow the orange arrows. I recommend riding the trail from the Tunnel Mountain Rd. parking lot, down towards Bow Falls, ending at “Surprise Corner” which offers some incredible views of Fairmont Banff Springs. This option is much easier than having to ride up a short, but steep, section on the east end of the trail - this section is very short and can be easily walked if beyond your ability to ride up or descend.

Trailhead: The trailhead is located on Tunnel Mountain Road at the second parking lot. When riding/driving from town the parking lot is located on your right-hand side. Park and look for the singletrack trail heading west from the car park. Orange arrows point in the direction of the trail; there is a trail map 100 metres west of the parking lot to help get you oriented.

Majority of the trail is clear and dry. A couple snow patches but 27.5's had no problem. A little mud and a couple puddles. All round, in good shape

Yes, elevation profile is wrong. This trail is pretty much continuous downhill from the campground, becomes fairly flat once you near the river and then has a steep uphill near the end with another steep up hill and stairs when you get to the parking lot. We love this trail (except for those last steep parts which required us to push our bikes up). It is a super fun way to get from the campground into town. Our 8 and 10 year old kids did walk a small portion of the steep downhill section and we did all have to push our bikes up the hills at the end but the rest of this trail isn't technica at all and is just pure fun!
