This section of the Bridger Foothills Trail is generally ridden from the top of Sypes Canyon down to the mile 1 marker of Middle Cottonwood. It's highlights include some steep technical descending through north facing gullies and ridgelets ending with a cobble strewn, generally dried up stream, bed that often holds avalanche debris into mid-summer. Despite the overall descending nature of this trail, some steep climbing/hike-a-bike is necessary to gain the ridge between Sypes and Middle Cottonwood. Do not try to ride this when wet, the soil on the north facing slopes contains lots of clay and turns to gumbo.

This trail is subject to the trail time share which prohibits mt biking on Sunday between June 16 and Sept 5.

Disclaimer

No Mtn Biking on Sundays; Trail Time Share between June 16 and Sept 5.
