The 2.1 km Len Gertler Side Trail in the Len Gertler Memorial Loree Forest is named for the man whose report provided much of the impetus for the Niagara Escarpment protection legislation that followed. Accessing it requires a 600 metre walk in from side-of-road parking on 21st Sideroad. The trail provides a lovely walk through hardwood bush and along broad coniferous plantation paths. With the main Trail it creates a loop of 5.5 km and so provides access to the top of the Escarpment above Georgian Peaks and long views north over Nottawasaga Bay. The loop will be popular in all seasons, as its level terrain allows for both cross-country skiing and snow shoeing in winter.
