This is a connector trail between the White River Trail #1199 and the Skookum Flats Trail #1194.

Start at Camp Shepard Boy Scout Camp and head east on the Buck Creek Trail for .3 miles to White River Trail 1199. Heading across Highway 410 and south for another .2 miles on the Buck Creek Trail takes you to Skookum Flats Trail 1194 and onwards to the Buck Creek area. This end of the trail crosses the White River over a cable suspension bridge for hikers and bicyclers.

You can use the large tree that has fallen across the river to cross the White River (Buck Creek 1169) near camp. Floods destroyed the suspension bridge in 2008.

A valid Recreation Pass is required at the trailhead.

Access Info

Drive east on State Highway 410 from Enumclaw 28.3 miles to wide parking area on left (east) side of highway. Trailhead is on left (east) side of highway just past (south) the Camp Sheppard entrance. There are 2 parking spaces at the trailhead.

Disclaimer

No access to Skookum Flats Trail #1194, suspension bridge washed out in 2006.
