Bump & Grind is a fairly wide open trail that starts with some pretty steep climbing with tight switchbacks. After leveling off a bit you have really great bench-cut singletrack through the mountainside with incredible views of the city. It finally turns into a long doubletrack climb to the top of the mountain.

When you get to the top you can take turn back or try the even steeper, more technical Hop Along trail down. Fast in some areas, white knuckle, brake riding in others. Be careful, some areas leave little margin for error.

Access Info

The access point for this trail is located on Painters Path behind the Target store in Palm Desert. The City of Rancho Mirage is restricting entrance to the Bump and Grind from the other older trailheads located in residential areas, so do not use them.
