Burns Gulch is a good downhill to make a loop back to the Wagonhammer Trailhead. Riding it uphill would be an adventure and there would be hike-a-bike.

Understand that this trail is on the wild side. There are several steep wash crossings that currently require portaging, there is usually some sort of carrion along the way and there is nettle waiting to sting you. It is best ridden in Spring or Fall when the grass is not thick and the trail is more visible.

At the bottom of Burns Gulch is a private residence and the trail crosses private property. Be nice to the landowner and respect his property!

Most of the gully crossings are unridable. A recent flash flood did some impressive erosion along the stream bottom. The trail is riding well...

reporter Clear of deadfall and relatively easy to follow right now. Ride it before the grass gets thick and tall.
