The Carl Gulch Trail is primarily a downhill trail with about the lower two thirds on an old road with steep grades. The road is closed to motor vehicles and has morphed into single track. There are an old cabin remains and spring adjacent to the trail about two thirds of the way up the trail. From the cabin on up it is single track. This is a fun trail on the down hill run and will test your brakes.

Access Info

The lower end of the trail is accessed on the road that goes through the Forest Service Hughes Creek Guard Station. There is parking before the gate in back of the Guard Station. The upper end of the trail can be accessed via the Sheep Creek Road 077.
