This trail is 3.5 miles long and is a mixture of tight twisty and moderately fast singletrack. It is sometimes referred to as the "dragon" because the gps track resembles the winged creature. The trail is considered intermediate because of the tight up and down sections but does not have any difficult climbs. Cartier Park also has a paved multi-use trail, campground, dog park and access to Lincoln Lake.

Access Info

The trail is easily accessed from the parking area at the corner of Tinkham and Rath Ave. It can also be accessed from the corner of Rath and Virnetta as part of the urban singletrack system.

This is a well maintained trail that is enjoyable for both beginners and experienced riders. I don't know if improvements have been made since 2019 but I rode this trail 2 days after heavy rain and there were no wet spots. We discovered a fun little dirt jump track near the center of the park just off the main trail - you probably won't notice it unless you take an intersecting trail that goes down a short hill.

West side of trail (closest to Cartier Park Campground) has some nasty wet spots as of this time. Look for detours.
