The trail just starts to get very steep and loose. It is kind of straight up the gully and gets washed out a bit. It is not right in the wash, but next to it. The higher you go the river bed tends to hold snow for a long time. This trail actually continues to the top, but there is a point where it is nothing but hike-a-bike.

This trail is quite steep and technical in several places on the way up, but it's a beautiful area. The rocks and dirt were very dry and loose, and I was having some trouble getting enough traction ( I rideTrail King 2.4 tires at 20psi). The trail is in great shape and it's definitely a good ride if you enjoy some fairly steep, loose climbs.
