Great high country cruiser. That being said the access from Spring Creek Pass off Hwy 149 is definitely a hike a bike for most the length up to the top of Snow Mesa. About 2.5 miles of hiking. Snow Mesa can be, most often is, ridden as as shuttle ride from Spring Creek Pass, across Snow Mesa, into Miners Creek and down to Creede. Which makes for a pretty epic ride, allow 6-8hrs for shuttle and ride...25 miles. Above treeline for some then a rowdy descent into Miners Creek and mostly downhill from there punctuated with many short steeps and creek crossings. Your feet will get wet. Fun fast switchbacks down to the creek and out to Miners Creek Trailhead to the waiting car, or continue on the road to Creede for a beer at Tommy Knockers.
