High alpine ride that ascends to the continental divide before riding along the ridge-line around 13,000ft. Really rough high altitude climb with some of hike-a-bike included and a ripper descent back down to the Herman Gulch trailhead.

This is a popular trail on the weekends with hikers going to that first turn off for the lake so it is better to start early to stay out of their way.

Herman Gulch is in pretty good shape. Still snow melt so some wet/muddy areas and a few downed trees. All easy to get through or around.
