Most of this segment of the CDT runs through regenerating forest that was burned in 2000. It is enjoyable riding but those young saplings can make things tight in spots. The trail crosses Forest Road #725 several times and is well marked at these junctions and otherwise. Where the trail descends from its high point near the western end are many large, tightly spaced log waterbars. More like steps, these can be tricky riding.
