This segment of the CDT climbs from Schultz Saddle up to the edge of the Hell Roaring RWA at the head of the Hell Roaring drainage. The trail is smooth and slightly over grown at first. As it gains elevation it becomes chunkier and more challenging. Great views can be had in all directions once the trail gains the narrow ridge at ~8500'.
