Challenging backcountry riding with rocky sections and areas of thick vegetation. There are 3 tough stream crossings-bring proper footwear or expect wet feet.
If descending, the rowdiness is interrupted by a very steep hike-a-bike where the trail leaves the South Fork drainage and crosses into main Sheep Creek.
If traveling south on the CDT, expect plenty of pushing! The trail climbs from 5800' to 7700'. Then some more should you continue up to where the CDT meets the IDA/MONT border at ~8700' on CDT (4th Of July).
