Challenging backcountry riding with rocky sections and areas of thick vegetation. There are 3 tough stream crossings-bring proper footwear or expect wet feet.

If descending south to north, the rowdiness is interrupted by a very steep hike-a-bike where the trail leaves the South Fork drainage and crosses into main Sheep Creek.

If traveling north to south on the CDT, expect plenty of pushing The trail climbs from 5800' to 7700'. Then some more should you continue up to where the CDT meets the IDA/MONT border at ~8700' on CDT (4th Of July).

      Clear of deadfall and riding very well. Fall colors coming on. Watch for wolves, other large predators and the usual S. Fork Sheep wildness.
