Park across Red Hills Parkway at the top of this trail at the trailhead parking for the Pioneer Hills trails. You can explore the Pioneer Hills trails. They aren't marked too well last time I was there but the area is small. City Creek is a short trail that can be ridden as an out and back. It's a pretty easy intermediate trail with a couple spots that many riders will get off and walk a short distance. From a couple spots on the lower half you can see a golf course below you. You'll ride down into a wash and back out. It's not very steep except for a short bit down near the wash. I usually use this trail to connect to other trails. I usually ride the Owens trail as part of this one. Owens is more technical and mostly rock. I'll often ride the pavement (Red Hills Parkway), at the bottom, a little ways to get over to the Chuckwalla, Turtle Wall and Paradise Rim trails. Those trails are northwest of City Creek. The Trailforks map shows City Creek in three sections with the middle being purple. The whole trail is singletrack and should be ridden as one trail, not three. If you want a short ride very close to downtown St. George go here. Or ride up there and connect to many other trails from there using other trails, bike paths and roads. I give the trail 3 stars. My tires have picked up thorns on this trail. Use sealant.

       Best if ridden clockwise, IMO.

Has a lot of loose and/or rocky sections, so there are some sloppy climbs either way, but there’s more downhill to be ripped if you go clockwise.

Start at the Owen’s Loop trailhead (parking at Dixie Rock), link up with City Creek trail and ride it to the City Creek trailhead. Then you can take the paved Red Hills Parkway trail back to complete the loop! (Full loop described here is 6 miles, 600 feet of climbing)
