I rode this trail today and a resident claimed that he owned the land this trail was on. He was very aggressive telling me that I was trespassing and if I can back”your going to regret it”. Is this trail section legal? I’m assuming so with the signage and it being on maps. If anyone knows who I can contact to clear this up I would appreciate it

Here is my understanding of the land use issues regarding this trail, I may not be totally correct, if not hopefully someone will correct me. I don't believe that this section of the Clear Creek Trail was permitted when the CVTA originally built the Clear Creek Trail, it was originally an out and back. I think this section was just "ridden in" as a way for people to access the trail from some point other than Jacks Valley Road. I also don't believe that the parking area that people use on Golf Club Drive is not permitted. As far as land ownership goes, the State of Nevada is the most likely owner of the section that he was contesting as private, unless there has been a recent change in ownership. My take is, if you ride Clear Creek Trail to Old Clear Creek Road, just turn around and head back from there, that way you can be certain that you're not somewhere you shouldn't be.
