From the southern end at the Mill Creek Trailhead it is a tough climb, but the descent down the north end is prime. Do the north end as an up and back when you're tooling around in Pole Canyon and Brownback Gulch early season.

I rode this trail from South to North. It is a typical ditbike trail with ruts, loose sand and rocks, and blown-out corners, however its not as bad as some of the other trails in the Tobacco Roots. I found that I was on my bike for most of the ascent, and only had to walk short sections where its steep and loose. The middle third of the trail is the nicest, both for up and down, as the trail is less steep and somewhat flowy. As you descend the trail becomes steeper and straighter with more loose rocks.
