Continuation of the Coeur d'Alene backcountry classic. This section isn't used as frequently or as well maintained as the lower section, but it is still awesome. This section of trail also traverses back and forth between benched cliff riding high above the river to meandering through the floodplain. A few sections can be hard to navigate during lush growth due to their proximity to the river. They were weed wacked in 2016 and the trickier sections have some flagging. There is one stream crossing in a beaver pond section with no way across except to wade up to your shins. Be prepared for cold water! As with the lower sections, the views are amazing and the loam is delightful. Just make sure to call the Forest Service office before you go to find out if it has been cut out for the year.
It's a long ways to drive to the Jordan Camp trailhead, FR 412 or the upper end trailhead, FR3099. So you should access it on your bike coming off the lower river trail.
