Comfortably Numb is the longest and most physically challenging singletrack ride in the Whistler valley. Designed and built by Chris Markle (a Whistler trailbuilding legend), it's a must-do ride for technically advanced cyclists.

Comfortably Numb should not be taken lightly, take as much water as you can carry, you will need it. It's also not recomended that you do this trail on your own, as large parts are out of mobile phone coverage. If you do start the ride and need to exit early, there is a way out after 6km via Young Lust which will take you back to the Wedgemount carpark.

Most people ride this trail from North to South, starting at Wedgemount parking lot, but it can be ridden both ways.
Some variations of the trail include riding Kill Me Thrill Me first, or if you want to start in the village, you can ride out on Green Lake Loop

The descent portion is setup as a seperate trail, which can be done itself by climbing Yummy Numby.

Access Info

The trail begins near Wedgemount parking lot. Either ride or drive north of Whistler and look for the BC Parks signs for Wedgemount. Once off the highway there is ample parking near the river. To access the trail-head, cross the bridge and go left, veering right at a fork. After a couple of minutes you will see a well signed trail on your right.

A little snow covered at the top end of north Secret. Significant snow bringing the branches down across the traverse to young lust. Slow progress

Rode trail backwards and found it less of a grind and more enjoyable overall. Up Yummy Numby and through the Golden Door. The only thing I'd have done differently would have been taken the Out There descent. One of my favorite rides of the year! Also, great job on the trail maintenance and additional building...So well done!

Riding the best it ever has. I love this trail! It's as advertised and I have found it is a good barometer of my progression in fitness (esp. core strength) and skills over the years. Gets more fun every year for me.

This is my favorite trail, lush landscape and beautiful! It’s what we expected, lots of roots and rocks and technical sections. The trail is in excellent shape and a great build! Thanks guys

This might be in my top 5 trails of all time. If you like techy XC it’s got tons of challenging corners and roots and rolls those little 1’ high rock shelves that require a quick pop to get up. Nothing really consequential on the entire trail but the clean the whole thing without dabbing would be a grand feat. The loop up top has got to have the most slabs/km of any trail I’ve ever ridden. At one point you’re riding for maybe an honest 5 or 6 minutes just on smooth granite rock. Rad rad run. I mean, it COULD be even better if there were funds to pave it Wink
