Some snow in shade areas, nothing scary. Good to go until the next snow.

Mostly sand. It's reasonably entertaining as a DH trail but you're likely to get bogged down and bored if you ride it up. (unless you're on a fat bike)

Yeah I would never ride this trail from the east west direction they are saying. West east is the only way as you will get to have speed and flow. This and bull run are the only 5 star trails I would give in this area. Just being that you ride them and you want to ride them again! Okay Getaway is great to.

Trailforks recommends riding this trail clockwise, however, it is WAY more fun to ride it counter clockwise. Big Mesa ->Big Lonely ->Coney Island ->Middle Earth back to parking lot.

I followed the last suggestion and I think the logic of rising it CW is that the first part of the descent on Coney is double track (boring), there is a substantial amount of climbing from the low point to middle earth, and lastly, you’ll run afoul of the vast majority of riders on the loop. The sand is not much of an issue and doesn’t favor one direction. Just my 2€
