The trail in starts behind the parking lot, ride past the little church (on your right) then past a garage (on your left) and you will see the trailhead. Take that trail through the trees, you will come to a right-of-way. Turn tight, follow the trail, you will come to a road and a clearcut, continue straight across the road. Follow the trail to the beginning of Cougar Ridge, look for flagging tape to the right. The beginning of the trail is just before the trail you are on does a steep descent into a valley.
