This trail is officially part of the Tiger Ridge trail (trail #3224) but is locally known as Cow Camp trail because it connects the North Fork Trail (#3222) to Cow Camp Saddle on Government Mtn Rd. (FS Rd. 6511) and can only be connected to the rest of the Tiger Ridge trail by hiking/riding 0.5 mile on Government Mtn. Rd. Also, unlike the remainder of the Tiger Ridge trail, it also follows the bottom of a drainage, not a ridge. This trail is most commonly utilized to make a loop ride that starts at Tiger Canyon Rd. (FS Rd 65) and descends the North Fork trail. The climb out of the North Fork valley on this trail is steep and grueling and not recommended unless you are in good physical shape.
