Recently reclaimed by the local EMBA chapter, this old cattle driving trail sat unused and unmaintained for years. Steep, loose and technical with a raw old school flavor, this trail will keep you on your toes. Amazing views and an isolated location give this trail a true backcountry feel.

Access Info

A Discover Pass is required for all parking areas and road access. Park at the Windy Point parking lot off of Hwy 12. If you are shuttling, leave any extra vehicles in this lot as well. The shuttle drop is a large dispersed camping area just before the 634 rd. At the request of WDFW, please do NOT drive down the 634. There is no parking or turnaround available where the trail starts. The added drive time and paint scratches are not worth it anyhow.


2 pedaling options

1) 1302 road - 634 road. This is the longest pedal but offers great views with an average grade overall. The trail is on the left, 100ft past a giant mud hole in the 634 road. It is not signed currently but there is green flagging about 100ft in.

2) 1302 road - 415 road - old road. This is the most direct route but also the most difficult. The road tops out at a scenic mountain meadow. The trail is .5 miles past that.
