Land Owner
The Girraween Creek Trail is a 5km loop trail with some gentle ups and downs passing through woodland interspersed with large granite boulders and granite mountains on good mostly double track fire trails. The Creek Trail is a companion trail to the well-known Girraween Peak Trail, and they interconnect at Bald Rock Creek and can be ridden as one trail from end to end. Some riders create a larger loop by riding the Peak and Creek Trails and then returning to their start point via the Mt Norman Road. This central section of Mt Norman Road is high access 4WD only which keeps day trippers and tourist traffic to a minimum, so cyclists are very unlikely to meet much car traffic on this road section.
Access Info
Best road access to northern entrance of Creek Track is via Pyramids Rd which is a well graded gravel road suitable for soft roaders, light 4WD's and even 2WD in good weather. Don't try and access this entrance via the Mt Norman Rd as the section beyond the Mt Norman Day Use Area gets pretty rough and is only suitable for a serious high clearance 4WD. NPWS carefully maintain the Mt Norman Rd up to the Day Use Area and it is a very nice gravel road, but after the Day Use Area there is no maintenance of the road so it's proper 4WD only.
