Wide gravel path up along the flank of the hillside to the north of the Cardwell Hill Road. The upper section of the path is more densely wooded, with things opening up into an open managed grassland with occasional oak trees. The path meanders and descends through this grassland down to the road.

Notably at the start of the trail at the top there is a gazebo and picnic table slightly cantilevered out over the woods below.
