Ride in RainYes
This trail is a fire road that has many fun turns. The climb up is filled with short to moderate climbs with some flatter areas after some sections that give riders a nice break to catch their breath and relax a little. Traffic on the trail is minimal to nothing which give riders the opportunity to go all out on the descent. The trail is on federal land and is used by hunters during some parts of the year.
The trail is exposed if riding midday. On hot days it’s advised to ride earlier in the day although it can be ridden in the later part of the afternoon on a very hot day as the mountain casts a shadow over most sections leading to the top of the trail.
Access by vehicle on Glen Helen road or by bike heading north along the concrete wash by the southbound I-15 Glen Helen off ramp. You can also access via the "Han's Highway" trail and "Gunsmoke" trail.
There’s a small home with barking dogs at the trailhead.
