Named for the family that donated the parcel on which some of the trail lies, Desmarais Trail was the first new multi-use trail built in Amherst/Betty Arnold Forest in 2016, once the "bike ban" was lifted. Easier to climb than Cricket Crossing, but the downhill with the granite berm is not to be missed. Connects the BAF trailhead with the Bicentennial trail, and the first leg of the classic clockwise loop around Cricket Hill - Desmarais, Bicentennial, Lorden Path, and Crocket Crossing.
