This trail is neither a purpose-built nor designated mountain biking trail and frankly I am astonished to see it listed here.

This has long been a popular walking track and, passing through the Nelson Mineral Belt, has high conservation values. I'm also very concerned about the safety of walkers as in many places there is simply nowhere to go to get out of the way. As a keen mountain biker and walker I have access to countless tracks and trails and cannot see how this entry makes it onto Trail Forks. To simply turn a walking track into a black diamond DH trail by riding it and listing it does not make it so. Many of the local mtb club, Nelson Mountain Biking Club (NMTBC), have put countless hours into developing good relationships with local councils to ensure ongoing trail development. Claiming walk tracks as mtb trails is putting those healthy relationships in jeopardy.

I would appreciate some feedback on this comment

Plenty of skilled riders enjoy this trail Duncan. Research has also shown that walkers do more damage to trails than mountain bikes. Look up a study called "Erosional impact of hikers, horses, off-road bicycles, and motorcycles on mountain trails".

If it's not suitable for biking then that's for the club and Council to decide.
