A good, technical climb up the back side of Doi Kham. In the dry season it’s basically a layer of loose sand and rocks over hard pack - very slippery. Full on sections of sand that bog you down and in the steeps, fist sized to head sized rocks to keep you from gaining traction. But it’s a rewarding ride with some fun gravity oriented trails waiting for you along the way and at the top.

Head towards Wat Doi Kham and continue on to Mae Hia - Ban Pong Road. At the apex of the hill you’ll see some benches on your right and a pavilion on your left. The trail starts about 10 meters past the pavilion on the left side. Make sure you are in an easy gear. The first 50 meters are tough.

Entrance now has a guard rail blocking the way. Just hop the rail and start your climb. Bummer since it ruins initial momentum.
